The meeting, and what to expect on the ground
The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2027 runs 18–22 January 2027 at the Davos Congress Centre (confirm final details at weforum.org). During the week Davos becomes a controlled environment: Swiss authorities carry out precautionary personal, vehicle and baggage checks on the access roads, parts of the Promenade close, and designated security zones restrict entry. Access to hotels and the Congress Centre is controlled, and congress accreditation, vehicle permits and badges are issued through the Forum and the authorities — not by any transfer operator.
Getting there — plan for the checks
Zurich and its airport are about two hours from Davos in normal conditions, but during WEF week the access-road checks mean you should plan for roughly three hours door to door. A private driver who expects the checkpoints and the rolling closures — authorities have in the past briefly held traffic on the A28 between Landquart and Klosters for passing convoys — turns an uncertain journey into a managed one, with your schedule built around the restrictions rather than against them. Specific 2027 closures are published close to the dates by the Forum and the cantonal police.
Why delegates book a private transfer for WEF
Swiss Touristy has run private, fixed-price transfers across Switzerland for 25+ years. You see the full price for your route before you travel — no meter, no surprises. Airport pickups include 60 minutes of free waiting from your effective arrival time and a meet-and-greet at arrivals, and every quote allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. For a week where timing and discretion matter, a dedicated car and driver beat changing between trains and taxis in the cold with luggage.
